We are currently recruiting a Technical Services Semi-Skilled Operative for a permanent, full-time role, starting in 2026.

Salary: £22,000 – £28,000 DOE
Location: Southampton
Primary Purpose of the Position
To carry out all Technical Services duties and activities required as a Semi-Skilled Technician, including simple modifications, reworks, repairs, diagnostics, and paint spraying to customer parts and units.
Duties Include:
- Prioritise safety at all times
- Complete all allocated daily tasks according to customer requirements and standards as detailed in the work order or as instructed
- Technician Responsibilities:
- Prepare and mount arms or booms in line with customer requirements
- Install small modifications or adjustments as required (e.g., buckets, links, pads, radios, GPS swaps, wheels, etc.)
- Carry out reworks and repairs on units and parts (e.g., touch-up repairs, applying/replacing decals, treating parts with fluid film)
- Run diagnostics pre- or post-modifications
- Read and interpret assembly diagrams and plans
- Cargo Washing Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality washes on customer units on schedule, following customer-specific requirements
- Apply protective layers to prevent rust and corrosion
- Ensure safe handling of all products in line with stock, rotation, and company & customer policies
- Body Spraying Responsibilities:
- Repair paint damage on machines according to procedures
- Carry out preparatory work for spray booth finishing (sanding, degreasing, masking/unmasking parts)
- Conduct paint repairs with spray-gun on parts as per work order or supervisor instruction
- Manage the paint lab, ensuring stock levels are maintained in line with regulations
- Control access to the spray booth as required
- Complete all associated administration and checklists attached to tasks
- Capture all TPA activities in the scanner
- Notify the Supervisor if daily/weekly targets cannot be met
- Maintain high levels of productivity and customer service
- Interface with customers and third parties professionally
- Ensure role-related equipment is in good condition and report defects
- Maintain high standards of dress code, housekeeping, and site presentation
- Sort and dispose of waste correctly in line with regulations
- Assist in other areas of the department or wider business as required
- Act as an ambassador for the business by mentoring and setting a good example

Knowledge and Skills
- Previous experience in a similar role
- MHE licences (Forklift, Aerial Platform, Sideloader – preferable)
- Knowledge of materials, including washing operations and fluid installation
- Full, clean UK driving licence
